How to bring “hygge” to your living room
If you don´t know what hygge means, it is a Danish concept that means being comfortable, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that makes you feel full.
It sounds to me as a Sunday, for me Sundays at home are hygge as I lie on the sofa with a blanket to watch a movie or to read while I take a chocolate cup with marshmallows. This could be a hygge atmosphere, but how can you recreate this permanent atmosphere thanks to your decoration?
Bringing the hygge to the decoration of your living room is easy and very funny. Some time ago I quoted a phrase of the Little Prince: "It is only in the heart that one can see rightly, what is essential is invisible to the eye". To bring the hygge to your living room, you need to remember that every detail counts and that each one can bring you different sensations. For example, feeling super comfortable and welcomed. The final sensation is a feeling of fullness and happiness.
The first thing is a fluffy and comfortable sofa, accompanied by different blankets and cushions, these are the basic items. Then it comes details as candles, candelabras, plants, a basket of books or movies. If you have a fireplace you can light it and read a book wrapped between the blankets. Or watch a movie with your partner while you have a glass of wine. These decorative details will turn that activity into a hygge moment and atmosphere! In other words, you will feel so full and happy that you wouldn’t want to get out of your living room.

Just as Rachel said, I was also curious about this trend. I love the decor items you featured. It definitely conjures up a warm cosy atmosphere. I suppose the ideal of this concept is to apply it to your interactions with people too.
