What To Do When You Forget To Pack Something Crucial For You Vacation

What To Do When You Forget To Pack Something Crucial

Going on vacation is a great thing, and that’s a universal concept we can all agree on, right? Heading to a new and exciting place to meet new people and experience new sights, and being able to take your loved ones along with you, can be a lot of fun on your vacation!

However, packing for a vacation can take ages, be annoying, and there’s no one out there who enjoys it. Because of this, forgetting to pack some crucial items is a common issue. But when you discover you’ve forgotten to pack something, what can you do? Well, here are some ideas.

Find a Local Supermarket

A local supermarket is going to be a lot cheaper than an airport, on either side of your flight. So, if you’ve gone through your carry on, or you’ve suddenly remembered that you forgot to put something in your suitcase in the hold, don’t panic buy as soon as you’re able to.

Find a local supermarket and make good use of their lower, more travel budget friendly prices. From a bottle of sunscreen to a pair of headphones to a new phone charger (because you forget to pack one of them at least once a year!), you’ll find them at least 30% cheaper in a store like this than at an airport boutique.

Scope Out Medical Facilities

We’ve all done it! Left some key medications at home or simply not packed enough, and when we realise, we can start to panic. But before you do, put a plan together – it’s easier than you might think to get your tablets or medical equipment, even when you’re abroad.

For example, let’s say you’ve left your only pair of glasses at home, and you’re going to struggle to read things like menus and tourist guides while you’re away. What do you do? Well, you can talk to a local doctor, and finding one won’t be hard if you ask at a hotel desk or simply use your phone’s map, and see about filling your regular prescription as soon as possible. Or, you could go online to a site like www.eyeglasses.com, and see about local delivery services in the area too.

Find Other Local Amenities

Once you’ve found a supermarket, you should be able to find other local amenities that’ll give you an advantage. For example, if you forget to pack enough underwear for the trip, you’re going to need to scope out a local laundrette to wash the pairs you do have.

Similarly, if you need to be able to take a drink around with you, because you’re somewhere hot or you’re walking a lot, be sure to pick up a reusable water bottle from a local budget store. And you may also be able to find a local print or stationary store, if you feel the need to copy your passport in case you lose that too.

We all forget things when packing. But don’t worry; there’s a lot you can do!
