So you have found your dream house

So you have found your dream house… now what?

When you find your dream house, it’s pretty exciting. Because most of us will get this vision of what we want in our minds. We all visualize our forever homes. What it looks like, what style it is, the size, where it is - even what the rooms look like. And when you’re finally in the position to buy it, you can often just want to find it now. Yet, that doesn’t always happen. It can take a while for your dream home to come up on the market. So, you have to persist. You need to view different properties and just keep looking. Because it will arrive. And when it does, that’s only the beginning. So, when you have actually found your dream place, you then have a lot of work to do. But what? Let’s take a look.

Finalize everything

First of all, before you get ahead of yourself, you’ll want to make sure that everything is finalized first. Because the house buying process* can take a long time - especially if you have a chain. So, make sure that you’ve done everything that you need to, and wait for that magical day when completion comes!

Choose your decor

When you’re all set to go, you’re going to want to think seriously about the interiors. Maybe you can take pictures of the place, so you know what you’re working with. Then look for decor inspiration for each room. Just get some ideas together at this stage, because you now have more decisions to make.

Hire professionals

And then comes the part where you look for help. Because you are going to need it! If there’s a ton of renovations to do, you might want to find a builder or other tradesmen to help you. You’re definitely going to need to find a moving company, such as Two Men*, to get you all settled in on time. You can even want to get a cleaning company in to get it all up to scratch before you move in. Just decide whether you’re moving in before or during the renovations, or after.

Get to work

Next up, it is time to get to work. Will you be DIYing it? Will you let the professionals handle everything? Either way, it’s time to make sure that you are making the place your own. And, if you are lucky and there is zero work to do, you are going to want to make sure that you get all of your furniture in and start styling your decor.

Make It Your Own

And then finally, you need to make the place your own by actually starting to live in it. Do not let yourself get all caught up in the design process. It can be too stressful if you do. Instead, you need to make sure that you are spending time in the house, that you are enjoying it. After all, you have worked hard to get here. And, with it being your forever home, it’s also your family home. So, make sure that you get to enjoy living there with your family too!

Ready to live in your new home?

Big hug,

Fiorella
